Timeless Sound. Today's Style.

Technics × Fritz Hansen

Technics and Fritz Hansen unite two worlds of craftsmanship - Japanese audio engineering and iconic design - to explore how sound and light can coexist in harmony. The collaboration creates more than objects; it creates atmosphere. Spaces where light defines mood, sound evokes emotion, and minimalist design connects both.

Precision, Timeless Sophistication, and Sensory Depth

Technics

Founded in Japan in 1965, Technics has long been recognized for its pursuit of the ultimate emotive musical experience. The pioneer behind the world’s first direct-drive turntable system, introduced in 1970, redefined turntable technology with exceptional accuracy and stability - qualities that remain a hallmark of the brand today.

Fritz Hansen

Fritz Hansen, established in Denmark in 1872, is known for its enduring furniture and lighting designs that combine craftsmanship, functionality, and timeless aesthetics. Among them, the iconic KAISER idell™ Luxus table lamp designed in 1936 by Bauhaus designer Christian Dell.

Natural Texture

Crafted from MDF, a wood-based material with fine layered fibers, offering quiet warmth and subtle presence — bringing harmony to any living space.

Analog Meets Bluetooth® Ease

Enjoy analog sound freely with built-in Bluetooth® — connect instantly to wireless speakers or headphones, no cables or complex setup needed.

* Supported codecs: Qualcomm® aptX™ Adaptive and SBC

Optimized for Instant Vinyl Playback

With the included cartridge and built-in phono amplifier precisely matched for optimal performance, simply connect to active speakers or an amplifier and passive speakers — and confidently enjoy vinyl playback immediately.

Driven by the Technics Legacy

For decades, Technics’ direct drive has delivered accurate, maintenance-free rotation. This mechanism, which directly spins the platter with strong torque, has evolved to offer even greater precision with a coreless motor that eliminates cogging.

Engineered for Precision

Tonearm

While minimizing the tonearm base size, the design inherits the traditional S-shape and ensures high tracking performance via micron-level precision engineering.

Cartridge

The included Audio-Technica AT-VM95C cartridge features a conical stylus that delivers clear sound. With the built-in phono EQ, it ensures optimal performance.

Platter

Rigid rotation and precise torque control are achieved by a 1.26kg die-cast aluminum platter with reinforced ribs and a directly mounted motor magnet.

Insulator

Excellent vibration resistance and reduced howling are achieved by newly tuned insulators. It’s rubber hardness is optimized to shift resonance outside the audible range.

Intelligence Behind the Spin

Digital Control

Digital control elevates rotation accuracy to the highest level through (1)precise speed detection, (2)Per-unit calibration during production, and (3)digitally optimized motor drive signals.

Eco Friendly Packaging

The SL-40CBT uses eco-friendly packaging by replacing styrene foam cushioning with cardboard to reduce marine plastic waste.
